{"id":773,"date":"2019-02-04T15:07:58","date_gmt":"2019-02-04T20:07:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.lancephillips.com\/blog\/?p=773"},"modified":"2019-02-04T15:07:58","modified_gmt":"2019-02-04T20:07:58","slug":"january-2019-rebgv-stats","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.phillipsandprem.ca\/blog\/2019\/02\/04\/january-2019-rebgv-stats\/","title":{"rendered":"January 2019 REBGV Stats"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Home listings increase while buyers remain in holding pattern<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>VANCOUVER, BC \u2013 February 4, 2019 \u2013 Home listings continue to increase across all housing categories in the Metro Vancouver* housing market while home buyer activity remains below<br \/>\nhistorical averages.<\/p>\n<p>The Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver (REBGV) reports that residential home sales in the region totalled 1,103 in January 2019, a 39.3 per cent decrease from the 1,818 sales recorded in January 2018, and a 2.9 per cent increase from the 1,072 homes sold in December 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Last month\u2019s sales were 36.3 per cent below the 10-year January sales average and were the lowest January-sales total since 2009.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cREALTORS\u00ae are seeing more traffic at open houses compared to recent months, however,buyers are choosing to remain in a holding pattern for the time being,\u201d Phil Moore, REBGV president said.<\/p>\n<p>There were 4,848 detached, attached and apartment homes newly listed for sale on the Multiple Listing Service\u00ae (MLS\u00ae) in Metro Vancouver in January 2019.
